The APAMSA (Asian Pacific American Medical Students Association) chapter of Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and Mount Sinai School of Medicine cordially invites you to attend this year’s NY/NJ regional conference, “Professional Development: Remodeling the Model Minority.” This year’s conference will explore the barriers and issues encountered by the Asian-American medical students and physicians along the various steps of their training and development, with keynote speeches from distinguished guests Dr. Clyde Wu (Columbia Trustee and cardiopulmonary specialist), Dr. Wendy Chung (Professor and Director of the Clinical Genetics Program at Columbia), and Dr. Paul Lee (Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program and chair of the Residency Selection Committee at CUMC), panels and Q&A with medical students, residents, and physicians in the area, as well as practical workshops. In addition, there will be plenty of opportunities to mingle, delicious food from Malecon and Mill Korean, and a social event in the evening.Date: March 20, 2010 (registration open at 9am)
